L'MIT – Ljubljanska mreža info točk za mlade
(Ljubljana network of youth information centres)
L’MIT is a network of 6 non-profit organisations belonging under The Youth Office of the City of Ljubljana that gathers and spreads on information free of charge to the young and youth organisations in Ljubljana. The areas of information can roughly be divided to: activism, work and employment process, spirituality, formal education and scholarships, culture, accommodation, informal education and training, holidays and travelling, volunteer work, development of youth work, Slovenia in international space, counselling and help, health. Spreading of information is achieved by the following means: personal contact, by telephone, via e-mail and web site.
With the work we do try to take the following values into account: considering the fact that the young are a special social group and we therefore take into account their needs and desires, up-to-date information, objectivity, individual approach, help, anonymity of users, equal opportunities etc.
Various cover organisations are a part of the network and their activity to inform is only one segment of their work, which enables the informative activity of L’MIT to be upgraded with a picturesque range of other activities and offers that they young need and find useful. Apart from information service we carry out several other free activities at L’MIT as well: ‘Ljubljana to the Young’ – free swimming-pool tickets, ‘Let’s Open the Doors… and Mind’ – free education and creativity workshops, ‘What Makes Me Happy’ - internet competition and postcards, ‘Field Info’ – presentation information activities in other youth organisations and schools in Ljubljana, publication of the memo ‘Pointer’ …
