Where and how to get involved in volunteering in Slovenia?
Do you want to work in the field of volunteering in Slovenia or support the working of the organization? For a start, you can visit the website of Slovene Philanthropy, which is the holder of the Slovenian Network of Voluntary Organizations.
In addition to the list of organizations where you can find the right one for yourself, the website also contains all the necessary information and official documentation related to volunteering.
If you are already active in volunteering in your country of origin, they can also help you to get in touch with the organization of your country of origin and the organization you want to join in Slovenia.
European Solidarity Corps
The European Solidarity Corps is a new initiative of the European Union that allows young people between the ages of 18 and 30 to volunteer or participate in projects in their country or abroad for the benefit of communities and people across Europe. Volunteers have covered accommodation, meals and travel expenses and receive pocket money.
By registering in a participant database, you can apply to participate in various projects, such as participating in natural disaster prevention and redevelopment, assistance in asylum centres, or addressing various social issues in the community. Projects last from two months to one year and are usually implemented in EU Member States. You can also take part in the project in Slovenia.
The programme’s actions are divided into three areas:
- Solidarity projects,
- Volunteering (volunteering projects),
- Apprenticeship and employment.
Information on the European Solidarity Corps can be found on the website of the Movit National Agency, here.
You can register for the European Solidarity Corps database here.
